Mark's Finest
We're wrapping up the week with Silly Shells! I love this shell. I stamped it three times and colored it in. I hated the first way I colored it but liked the second and thrid try! I decided to make two cards using the same color combinations.
*Thrifty Tip- If you have two items already colored and have out all your supplies make 2 cards! Why waste your time putting away your supplies and then dragging the back out again to make another card?

I decided to use the Sponged Tiles Technique for this card.
*Thrifty Tip-If you keep your eye out you can find kitchen sponges at discount stores. Family Dollar and Dollar General carry packages of them. You can find them at the dollar stores, too.
I wrote a tutorial on Sponged Tiles Technique HERE.

Mark's Finest

Today's stamp set is my favorite this month. The images look like they are from the Carribean islands. I like to color. You might not like to color. These images look beautiful if stamped in a neutral color and not colored in! I love it!

Thrifty sewing is fun! So is Thrifty paper crafting! I had this mason jar in my fridge with pickles I put up last summer. I needed the jar so I made a truckload of chicken salad! I had enough for lunches for a week! (I froze the chicken salad sans mayo in 7 baggies. When I wanted a sandwich I pulled the chicken/pickel mix out of the freezer. I put in in the sink to thaw. After an hour I added in the mayo!  The buttons are from shirts/coats/sweaters I find at garage sales. I never spend over 25 cents for a piece of clothing. I cut off the buttons and use the fabric for other things!

This card was very easy! I stamped the images and cut them out! Please join me here for my Thrifty Tips!

This new set is fun to use! I used the image border technique on the poppy purse and the card. I have written a tutorial for the Poppy Purse HERE.

This card was very easy to make. I like the way there is only color at the bottom of the card.

I have written a tutorial for this Image Border Card HERE.

Cheapo Distressing Tool!

It's time for another Thrifty Tip!
I don't spend money for crafts. My daughter gives me most of my inks. She's a gem! I found over 100 ink pads at my local Goodwill a few months ago it was under $10.00! That's 10 cents a pad!

Materials for today's tip:
ink
sponge
card stock
packing tape dispensor. I used this for packing up my house when I moved.

Rub teeth of tape dispensor over the card stock edges.
Sponge on ink.

Run the card stock through the teeth of the dispensor once again.

Thrifty Sponges

Hey Everybody! This is a new venture in conjunction with SpeedyTV. It's called: The Thrifty Stamper.  I'm cheap, stingy, penny pinching, and all around thrifty. I'm gonna teach you how to be just like me!

Today's Thrifty Tip is Inexpensive Crafting Sponges.
You will need the following materials:
Cheapo Kitchen Sponge. (Bought 10 in a pack at dollar store)
Scissors (Got at a garage sale for 10 cents!

Use the scissors to cut the sponge into 10 pieces. This is the perfect size for me. You may be able to use a smaller size. I like the sponges with a scrubber on one side. They are stiffer and easier to handle.

Here's the super Thrifty part.
The sponge on the left was used and cut down 5 times. (Clean sponge on right not cut down.)
You can use the same sponge for 5 different colors of ink/paint! That's a Thrifty Tip!
